Our story begins on the dating app, Hinge. Maggie swiped right after reading Chris's playful and kind responses, which paired beautifully with his bright eyes and infectious smile. Chris responded to Maggie's message, and especially loved Maggie's profile pic that featured her excitement about eating ice cream!

Our first date was at Handlerbar in Mount Dora. Maggie had a strict no-dating-people-who-lived-in-her-city policy, and somewhat misunderstood where Chris lived. At our first date, we were both astounded by our shared love of NPR and our similar deconstruction journeys.

We'd deleted Hinge and considered ourselves "official" by that December. This Christmas season included meeting each other's friends and exchanging our first gifts.

In March, Chris's dad, Al, passed away shortly after a cancer diagnoses. We traveled to Chicago twice to celebrate his life and honor his legacy.

Six months later, Maggie's dad, John Mark, passed away after a three-year battle with cancer. While this part of our story was filled with immense grief and loss, we are grateful for the support of each other and so many of our family and friends who cared for us.

As we entered 2023, we continue to share time between Celebration and Lakeland. As we experience our second summer together, our highlights include a bucket-list trip to Red Rocks, date nights at Disney Springs, and watching the Stanley Cup playoffs!

Chris and Maggie move to Chicago for Maggie's new job. We are welcomed with open arms by friends in the Chicagoland area, and by Chris's family, who lives in the southwest suburbs. Our new home in the River West neighborhood offers us the experience of "big city life" that we both desired at this stage in our life.
